About Us

We have 4, clean, comfortable, self catering apartments on the South Side of Bridlington, 2 of which are on the ground floor. Our flats sleep between 1 & 6 people. We have both 1 and 2 bedroom flats. All are totally self contained and are fully equipped for self catering needs, including own shower & w.c. Central heating is installed thoughout the building. We have also provided hairdryers, irons and ironing boards to each flat. Each flat have their own keys for freedom to come & go as you please. There is a selection of games and books to keep you and children entertained. Also fishing nets, buckets & spades. We have now added a DVD player to our family flat to keep the kids occupied so please feel free to bring your DVD's along with you. We also have free wifi access, hoping it will be an added benefit for many guests.

We are only 100yrds from the Harbour and within 2 minutes walk of the Beach, Town Centre and Spa Complex. We are also just a short stroll away from Tesco supermarket.

We have no added extras, like coin meters and linen charges for our holiday guests.

We also provide free parking permits for the duration of your stay. But if you are using public transport, we are located within walking distance of the train & coach station.

We have been awarded a 2 to 3 Star rating again this year. Below are some pictures.

Access Statement for Helena holiday flats, Bridlington.

Introduction

We have 4 self contained, fully equipped, self catering apartments, sleeping from 2 to 6 people. We are on the South shore approximately 100yds from the Harbour. We have 2 ground floor, 1 first floor & 1 second floor apartment. We would gladly take wheelchairs, but there is 1 step of 6 inch into the building and we have not got any wheelchair friendly adaption in either ground floor apartment.

Pre-Arrival

We have a public phone in the entrance hall. We are located 5-10 minute walk from the coach park and train station and approximately 15 minutes walk from the bus station.

Near by towns are Filey approx. 9miles, Scarborough approx 20miles and Driffield approx 15miles. Hull is approx 30miles.

The nearest Mobility shop is in chapel street Bridlington or Woodcock Mobility, Beck Hill Bridlington. The Radar toilets are on Queen St Bridlington located near to the shops.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

On arrival we issue you with 1 Free parking permit that permits you to park free for 1 week in the allocated parking zones. There is no specific parking space for any person with a disability badge. Assistance is given to anybody with a disability and bags or cases taken to rooms. There is a small kerb then a concrete path leading up to a step measuring 8inches high. The contact phone number is displayed on several of the external signs. Unfortunately we don’t take pets.

Main Entrance & Reception

Access only from the front entrance off the street.

There is a step into the building measuring 6inches high this leads into the entrance hall on the same level. The entrance to the hallway measures 44 x 48 inches long. There are 2 outside lights, 1 either side of the front door access. The main entrance is well lit inside with a shaded ceiling light permanently lit. Guest are allocated with keys for there rooms and for main entrance door. The main entrance door is a side hung wooden door this is permanently kept locked for security. This leads to a glass & wooden full length door into entrance hall. Width of main entrance door is 35inches. An integrated door mat is inlaid between external door and main entrance door. There is usually someone in charge throughout the day but we are available 24hrs by phone. There are no grab rails provided except on staircases. All Fire Exit signs throughout property are in green. All door frames and skirting boards are painted white and there is a continuous plain blue carpet from the entrance hall throughout the staircases and landings.

Public Areas - General (Internal)

There are no lifts available. Public has access to 3 floors. All public areas are carpeted. Public pay phone is located in entrance hall, but no seating available for this. Lighting in all public areas are by means of ceiling lights. All signage is clear. All doors are Fire Doors and are locked with keys. All doors are also assisted.

There are 2 flats on the ground floor. Flat 1 is self contained with a double bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge. It has an en-suite shower room/wc. Flat 1a is self contained and it has a small step down on entry of 6inch. It has a double bed in the lounge and a fully fitted kitchen and a shower room/wc.

Staircase from entrance hall to 1st Landing has 14 steps, each measuring 6inches High x 9 inches Deep x 34 inches across. Hand rail on left hand side of staircase. There is ceiling lighting on all staircases and landings and also Emergency lighting fitted throughout. All staircases are of gradual gradient. There is 1 flat on the 1 floor. Flat 3 is 2 bedroom and self contained It has a double bed in 1 bedroom and bunk beds in the other. It also has a king size sofa bed in the lounge. There is 1 flat on the 2 floor. Flat 4 is a 1 bedroom, self contained flat. It has a king size sofa bed in the lounge/kitchen and 1 double bed & 1 single bed in the bedroom. It has a shower room. None of the flats have baths. All flats have digital TV and are fully equipped for your self catering needs.

Fire safety

All landings have Fire point call point, plus there is a call point in flat 1a near back door. Fire alarm is raised by means of loud siren. Evacuation procedures are located in all rooms and landings.

Doors measure 30 inches wide.

We strictly run a non smoking establishment. We have a small courtyard at the front of the premises were we have a bench on firm concrete ground.

Bedrooms

Only the ground floor flats could accommodate a wheelchair but not adequate for people who may be confined to a wheelchair. They have a good sized en-suite with a good sized bedroom. All beds have bedside lamps. The rooms are carpeted and the kitchen areas have vinyl or laminate flooring. The en-suites have vinyl flooring or tiles. All rooms are fitted with fire alarm sensor. Door access into each room measures

29inches wide
